Now this is very special. A three-piece multi-instrumental combo from Boston, Mass, Yoke Shire are resolutely indefinable. They've been doing the rounds on the North Eastern music scene for the last six years to ever-increasing acclaim, and it's easy to see why.
Yoke Shire are probably the finest mainstream progressive rock band to assail my ears since the Tea Party many long years ago.
Leaping from Celtic influences to salsa to spacerock, often within the confines of the same song, what you hear here is the sound of master craftsmen having a damn good time, and enjoining you to take part. No po-faced session men, these boys, rather Craig, guitarist brother, Brian and drummer Brad Dillon just stretching out, and showing us mere mortals how it should be done.
Prime track is probably the epic "The Brook, the Mirror and the Maiden" which clocks in at an impressive 9 minutes +, but retains your interest and draws you into its ever ensnaring web. A classic.
